Defence Construction Canada – Request for Abbreviated Proposals for the Design and Construction (Modified Design Build) of the Drill Shed, CFB Halifax (Nova Scotia) In accordance with the rules, regulations, statutes and guidelines, and the professional associations, on the Province of Nova Scotia, Defence Construction Canada (DCC) is inviting Design-Build firms to submit proposals for design and construction services specific to this Department of National Defence (DND) project which will be located in Stadacona, CFB Halifax. The required services include, but may not be limited to, the following: • Pre-Design Report • Compilation and Production of Room Data Sheets • Concept Design • Design Development • Construction Documents • Statement of Construction Requirements • Construction of the new Drill Shed, parking, Stadacona Base entrance, Site Utilities Information provided by the Proponents will be evaluated using the established criteria in the Request for Abbreviated Proposals (RFAP) document. The criteria relate to previous achievements and experience, as well as professional, technical and managerial expertise, and approach and methodology. The highest ranking Design-Build firm selected through the evaluation process, including a factor for the price element, will be invited to negotiate an Agreement with DCC. This opportunity follows tendering procedures in accordance with Chapter 10 of NAFTA. The Construction Budget for this project for an estimated construction is in the order of $35 Million (excluding GST/HST). This estimate is only a budgetary figure and should not be used as the sole basis for fee calculations. Firms that consider themselves qualified to provide these services are invited to submit their Abbreviated Proposal on the forms that are available on line from the MERX website at www.merx.com or by calling 1-800-964-6379. To be considered, Abbreviated Proposals must be received at the following address, no later than 14:00 HOURS LOCAL TIME, AUGUST 25, 2014.
