Advance Contract Award Notice – 15-22052: Scanning Electron Microscope Service Agreement An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a department or agency intends to award a contract for goods, services or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the closing date stated in the ACAN, the contracting officer may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier. The purpose of this ACAN is to advertise to the supplier community that the NRC intends to negotiate and issue a service agreement for warranty and maintenance services to Carl Zeiss Canada. Carl Zeiss is the original Equipment Manufacturer of our nVision Scanning electron microscope (SEM). There are no other known suppliers that can offer a comprehensive service agreement to address the software and mechanical issues other than the original equipment manufacturer. Cost Estimate of the Proposed Contract: $100,000 to $500,000 CDN (Taxes are extra) Contract Term: July 23rd 2015 to July 22nd 2016 Option to Renew: This posting will serve for the immediate requirement and serve for future contracts up to four years after the closing date of the ACAN. The National Research Council will include 4 optional one year periods to renew the service agreement at its sole discretion.. Name and Address of Pre-Identified Supplier: Carl Zeiss Canada Supplier’s Right to Submit a Statement of Capabilities: Suppliers who consider themselves fully qualified and available to provide the services described in the ACAN may submit a statement of capabilities in writing to the contact person identified in this notice on or before the closing date of this notice. The statement of capabilities must clearly demonstrate how the supplier meets the advertised requirements.
