    ADVANCE NOTICE TO INDUSTRY

    PRE-TENDER OPTIONAL SITE VISIT FOR POTENTIAL BIDDERS

    Parks Canada Agency (PCA) is preparing bid documents and specifications for the tender of the Cameron Lake Day Use Area re-Development at Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta.

    The intent of the site visit is to provide potential bidders the opportunity to see the site prior to winter conditions as it is anticipated the requirement will be tendered this winter, 2015-2016. This Letter of Interest request only describes an anticipated solicitation, provision of a Letter of Interest and attendance at the site visit does not constitute a contract between Canada/PCA and the interested bidder.

    BACKGROUND

    This project will involve the demolition of the existing interpretative building and associated decking, washroom building and concessionaire building. The existing parking area will be increased by approximately 20% in area to accommodate additional parking. The scope of work will include the construction of two new identical vault washroom buildings, each being approximately 265 ft2 in size. There will be minor bridge abutment work on a pedestrian bridge, the construction of a visitor plaza area, including several small gathering areas. A small interpretative trail will be also be constructed including the restoration of an existing rock wall and associated landscape work. Two new docking structures will also form part of the scope of work. Finally a new concessionaire building will be constructed. This building will be 500 ft2 in size.

    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT AND INFORMATION SESSION

    It is optional that potential bidders or their representatives visit the work site. The optional site visit and information session will be held on Thursday November 5th, 2015. Bidders should communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than Tuesday, November 3th 2015, to confirm attendance and provide the names of the person(s) who will attend.

    INFORMATION:

    1) Registered attendees are to meet at the Park Operations Building at 11:00am MST.

    2) Warm clothes, no PPE required.

    4) All travel and living costs associated with travel to Cameron Lake Day Use Area for the purpose of attending the Optional Site Visit will be borne by the bidder or its representative.

    It is anticipated that all the work described above will be completed under 1 contract.

    PCA intends to post this ITT on the Government Electronic Tendering Service at Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders and potential bidders interested in submitting a proposal will be required to order documents from Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. The competitive requirement will be subject to the provision of the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT).
