Description
The scope of the contract is for services in helping maintain the digital seismograph network on Haida Gwaii.
Contract Tasks
- Station Maintenance
- With the guidance of NRCan staff from Ottawa or Sydney, the contractor will perform troubleshooting tasks to determine the cause of the problems and report back the findings.
- The contractor will implement procedures provided by technical staff in Ottawa or Sydney to repair seismograph stations in the region.
- Transport Logistics
- The contractor will initiate arrangements – with the authorization of NRCan personnel – for local helicopter charter transport to remote seismic stations, weather permitting. If the station has road access, the contractor will make arrangements for access to an off road vehicle to drive to the station such as a 4x4 pick-up truck or SUV.
- Logistical Support
- The contractor will act as an escort if necessary for maintenance contractors that are providing expertise for specific types of maintenance, such as: Telesat contractors.
- Field personnel support
- The contract will provide support if needed for NRCan personnel that are in the field in Haida Gwaii. Such as: Receiving shipments if tools and spare parts from courier services on behalf of the NRCan field personnel.
