    Description of the Requirement:

    TITLE

Provision of Project/Account Management Services in Support of the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP).

    BACKGROUND

The BCIP is a federal program managed by Public Works and Government Services Canada and implemented by the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises. The BCIP was originally announced as the Canadian Innovation Commercialization Program in Budget 2010 as a two-year pilot program and as a permanent program in Budget 2012 with the goal of bridging the pre-commercialization gap faced by Canadian businesses looking to bring their innovative products to the marketplace. The program has held six Calls for Proposals to date, including its pilot phase. Federal departments test the technology and provide the supplier with an assessment of its performance. There is a team dedicated to supporting pre-qualified innovators and federal testing departments once an innovation has been pre-qualified. This function is referred to as Innovation Management.

    SCOPE

The Innovation Management team has identified a number of challenges (financial and in-take) with recent changes that need to be addressed. The BCIP requires a Project/Account Manager to help with these challenges to meet financial and intake goals and to provide planning and coordination of a multi phased deployment schedule. As well, the role requires ongoing client engagement to ensure all intake data, contract/ Memorandum of Understanding information and financial items are collected and/or delivered in a timely manner.

This project will consist of a wide breadth of Innovation Management activities in order to support the BCIP’s operations. Particular engagement with Shared Services Canada and Department of National Defence clients will be essential for the assigned tasks.
