    Nature of Requirements:

    The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.

    The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide Gastroenterology and Hepatology services to offenders at the Beaver Creek Complex located near Gravenhurst, Ontario. The work will involve the following:

    Objectives:

    (a) The Correctional Service Canada is mandated, under the Corrections and Conditional Release Act (CCRA), to “provide every inmate with essential health care and reasonable access to non essential mental health care” In broad terms, health care means medical, dental, mental health care and public health services. During the period of incarceration, inmates are provided with a range of coordinated health services that are accessible, affordable, and appropriate to the correctional environment

    (b) Gastroenterology (GI) and Hepatology services are provided to offenders in all regions as part of the access to essential services. Providing these services on site provides efficiencies for the Services, reduces escorts and associated cost as well as contributing to public safety.

    Deliverables:

    (a) To provide expert GI consultative services, up to 6 - 4 hour clinics per year, to the Beaver Creek Complex offender population in accordance with professionally accepted standards including relevant reports and findings in the provision of expert GI care. To be available for telephone calls and for the review of lab tests

    (b) To provide up to 50 hours per year of Hepatology services management and treatment including Liver Biopsies at the Beaver Creek complex to the offender population in accordance with professionally accepted standards. To identify, educate, treat and manage offenders at the Beaver Creek Complex. The goal is to reduce the overall transmission of HCV within the offender population and community and where possible to be consistent with existing clinical guidelines initiate and manage as many offenders as possible on treatment while ensuring safe competent care. To be available for telephone calls and for the review of lab tests

    The period of the Contract(s) is from: July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2019 with the option to renew annually for up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods
