    Description

Guided Battlefield Tours of Europe to provide historical education to 30 Army Cadets accompanied by 3 Escort Officers in support of the National Cadets & Junior Canadian Rangers Program.

    OBJECTIVE

DND’s requires a “turnkey” solution in support of the Canadian Cadet Organizations for a guided Tour of Battlefields in Europe for selected Royal Canadian Army Cadets under the supervision of Cadet Instructor Cadre Officers.

During this overseas Battlefield pilgrimage, senior Army Cadets will relive challenges, celebrate achievements, and learn firsthand about the people and crucial events that have shaped our great nation. These selected Army Cadets will gain a better understanding of our past, to better prepare them to contribute to Canada’s future.

Thirty of DND’s Army Cadets ages 16-18 years will be under the supervision of three adult Officers.

The Contractor will provide twelve days of all-inclusive guided touring activities beginning in Amsterdam on 20 July 2017, ending in Paris, and including battlefields, war cemeteries, war or history-related memorials, monuments, ceremonies, museums, and other related historical sites. The tour must present in a printed bilingual brochure.

Programmed activities, typically totalling six to eight hours per day, must feature the accomplishments and contributions of the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian soldiers, and must include professionally guided tours of the following seven sites: Anne Frank House, Menin Gate Ceremony (including a wreath laying), Vimy Ridge, Juno Beach Centre, Wellington Quarry, Beaumont-Hamel, and Notre-Dame de Paris.

Professionally guided tours of five of the following six sites must also be included: Dieppe; Ypres/Flanders, St-Julien Memorial, Holten Cemetery, Dieppe Castle, and Caen’s Castle.

    DELIVERABLES:

All accommodations, healthy meals, ground transportation, guides, entrance fees, customary gratuities, and a bilingual brochure will be included within the all-inclusive price.
