SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER SERVICES
This requirement is for: The Correctional Service of Canada, Prairie Region,
AB/NWT District Parole
Trade agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT),
Tendering procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid
Competitive Procurement Strategy: Compliant bid with the highest combined score of technical merit and price.
Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business:
This procurement is not subject to any set-asides for Aboriginal Suppliers.
Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement:
This procurement is not subject to a Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement.
Security Requirements: This contract includes security requirements. The successful bidder must supply personnel who have obtained security clearance at a level of Enhanced Reliability prior to contract

Nature of Requirements:
The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.
The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide Sign Language interpreting services for conditionally released offenders with hearing impairments. Interpreting is required in Edmonton and Calgary. A Certificate of Interpretation is required.
Objectives
Provide Sign Language interpreting services as requested by the Project Authority. Services may be required at suspension meetings at the Remand Centre, supervision meetings at designated locations, to assist with programming completion at designated locations, and/or to assist at Parole Board Canada (PBC) hearings at designated locations.
Supervision meetings include approximately 4 parole officer contacts per month up to a 1 hour interview per contact. This may be reduced or increased depending on risk management needs
Psychological counselling sessions will be determined as per risk/need. They will be between 1 and 4 sessions per month, 1 hour per session, for the duration of the contract.
Community Program consists of interview plus 17 group sessions. The program will be facilitated up to 4 sessions per week, 2.25 hours per session. The program will run approximately 4 - 6 weeks.
Maintenance Program (weekly maintenance program) includes approximately 4 sessions per month, 2 hours per session, for the duration of the contract. This may be reduced depending on risk management needs.
Constraints:
The work will include sign language interpretation for offenders, including those convicted of violent and/or sexual offences, and will require interpretation in a group program setting with other offenders and Correctional Staff.
Deliverables: To perform the work in both Edmonton and Calgary as per the statement of work.
The work will require daytime and/or evening sessions Monday through Friday

Period of the Contract: The Work is to be performed during the period of date of contract signing for 5 years.
