    Description

    National Research Council Canada requires 30 tests based on the UL162 standard to be conducted. The supplier must be accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 to conduct UL162 tests.

    The tests must be conducted in two concurrent weeks and at two different nozzle elevations :8 feet and 42 feet. One set of 15 tests will be conducted during the first week and it will be repeated during the second week.

    1. Criteria for assessment of the Statement of Capabilities (Minimum Essential Requirements)

    (1) The supplier lab must have an existing test setup for conducting tests in accordance with UL162

    (2) The supplier lab must have the ability to run tests at 8 foot and 42 foot nozzle heights.

    (3) The supplier lab must be accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 to conduct UL162 tests.

    (4) The supplier lab must have pollution abatement for hydrocarbon fires and water containment facilities. The lab must also have a means to dispose of hazardous goods.

    (5) The supplier lab must have lifting equipment in-house to allow access to 46 foot heights

    4. Justification for the Pre-Identified Supplier

    SouthWest Research Institute is the only ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory that has a system to control air pollutants for the large hydrocarbon fires produced by UL162 testing. The lab also incorporates a full water containment system negating environmental impact.

    5 This ACAN contract serves for the immediate contract of $ 114,892.00 USD and for future requirements of similar size and scope for 2 additional years.
