Improvements to The Sault Ste.Marie Canal Swing Dam

Description of Work:

The project involves of the construction of non-structural components for the Emergency Swing Dam and all associated work and is not limited to the following :

1. Wicket Chain Stop Blocks : Remove and replace wood stop blocks, reconstruct non-original steel chain stops.
2. Decking : Remove and replace all wood decking, extend south decking as required.
3. Handrails : Remove and replace wood handrails, install gates as required.
4. Maintenance Shed : Remove and replace maintenant shed, remove and reinstall equipement with maintenance shed.
5. Structural Steel Coating : Sandblast and paint all wood to steel face and limited access components as required.
6. Turntable : Seal all cracks within the turntable.
7. End Supports : Install end supports for dam, supply and install support jacks and shrouds.

OPTIONAL SITE VISIT

There will be an additional site visit on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11H00. The site remains the same.

There will be an optional site visit on March 2, 2018 from 10h00 to 11h00am EST. Interested bidders are to meet at 1 Canal Drive, Sault Ste.Marie, Ontario P6A 6W4.

Construction Time:

The contractor will begin the work from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer and will complete the work on or before October 31, 2018.
