    Description

    WORKS COVERED BY THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS

    .1 The works covered by this contract relate to the refurbishment of the drinking water distribution system for the Rivière-à-la-Pêche sector. The current project comprises, but is not limited to, the following works:

    .1 Land clearing;

    .2 Demolition of existing structures;

    .3 Class 1 and Class 2 excavation;

    .4 Decommissioning of an approximately 4.6-km-long drinking water system, including removal and off-site disposal of existing piping and accessories as well as waste materials;

    .5 Construction of a new 4.6-km-long (approx.) drinking water system, including supply and installation of new piping and new accessories, as well as building connections as per the following details:

    5.1 Rivière-à-la-Pêche parking area, service building, and garage;

    5.2 Rivière-à-la-Pêche access road;

    5.3 Campground loop A;

    5.4 Campground loop B;

    5.5 Campground loop C;

    5.6 Campground loop F;

    5.7 Campground loop G.

    (Note that replacement of the drinking water system for loops D and E is not included under the current contract.)

    .6 Replacement of water points;

    .7 Replacement of fire hydrants;

    .8 Removal of fire-protection reservoirs;

    .9 Replacement of two culverts;

    .10 Backfill of excavations, including transitions and borrow materials;

    .11 Rehabilitation of site, including road structure, paving, pathways, landscaping, and all other features affected by the works;

    .12 Temporary retaining structures;

    .13 Protection of existing equipment belonging to Parks Canada Agency;

    .14 Protection of public utilities, including underground electrical power supply belonging to Hydro-Québec;

    .15 Environmental protection structures;

    .16 Works required to protect existing trees (crowns, trunks, and root systems) from damage during all work phases;

    .17 Foliage barrier (visual screen) in campground loops;

    .18 Temporary signage and traffic maintenance protection elements.

    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT

    There will be an optional site visit on June 28th 2018 at 1pm EDT. Interested bidders are to meet at:

    Saint-Jean-des-Piles Entrance (entrance of the east sector of La Mauricie National Park)

    CLOSING DATE AND TIME

    July 12th 2018 at 2PM (EDT)

    National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.

    Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.

    PERIOD OF CONTRACT

    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by November 15th 2018.

Inquiries are to be made in writing and should be received no less than five (5) calendar days prior to the closing date to allow sufficient time to respond.

    Parks Canada Procurement Unit provides services to the public in either official language of Canada.

    The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.

    Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
