    Description

    The objective of this project is to obtain data to use in determining relationships between tire safety and environmental performance for both light and heavy-duty vehicle tires. A sample of randomly selected tire models will be tested for rolling resistance, wet traction, composition, and other traction parameters. Results of these tire properties will help support Natural Resources Canada’s tire fuel efficiency performance standards, as well as Transport Canada’s motor vehicle safety efforts.

    Approach

    The Contractor must provide the services of a tire testing laboratory within North America to perform a series of standardized tests on randomly selected light-duty vehicle and heavy-duty vehicle tires.

    Scope of work/Tasks

    Testing will include up to one hundred (100) distinct models of tires (light-duty or heavy-duty), including winter tires identified by the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, with up to an additional 25 distinct tire models for the optional years.
