GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The works which are the subject of this contract includes the repair of Lachine Canal walls and the excavation of trenches in the shoals on the sections indicated in the Tender Form as well as on the plans
- Rehabilitation works may include, but are not limited to, one or more of the following activities:
.1 Replacement or repair of concrete crowning (retaining) walls with occasional interventions on approximately 0.3 m to 0.7 m of the upper seats requiring intervention in order to allow the stability of the reconstruction or the repair of the retaining walls;
.2 Excavation of 3 trenches at the shoals and offsite disposal of the excavated sediments;
.3 Any other repair details shown on the plans issued under this contract;
.4 Conduct detailed surveys of the existing walls to be repaired or replaced. Validate the exact dimensions, the exact profiles of the walls and seats that are the subject of this contract. Validate the alignment of the wall from the base of the existing seat. Complete all required surveys; Complete the survey of the exact dimensions of the retaining (crowning) wall and of the top of the seats and of any concrete components attached to them in order to determine the existing profile. Determine the exact profiles of existing walls and validate their actual dimensions. Submit detailed shop drawings showing existing profiles as well as proposed final profiles for each type of wall.
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $1,000,001 > $ 5,000,000, taxes extra.

CLOSING DATE AND TIME

National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.
Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
Standard Terms and Conditions for this procurement are incorporated by reference into, and form part of the Tender and Contract Documents.
PERIOD OF CONTRACT
The Contractor must perform the work from contract award and complete it no later than twenty-three (23) calendar weeks from the reception of the acceptance letter and two (2) weeks of finalization (turfgrass) in spring, latest date May 14, 2019.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
