This requirement is for: The Correctional Service of Canada, Beaver Creek Complex.
Trade agreement: This procurement is not subject to any trade agreement.
Tendering procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid.
Competitive Procurement Strategy: lowest priced compliant bid.
Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business: This procurement is not subject to a Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement.
Security Requirements: This contract does not include a security requirement.

The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.
Objectives
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is taking steps to minimize safety concerns with foot traffic entering and exiting GVT01 and GVT02 within the Grand Valley Institution compound. Replacement of the existing steps and ramps is required to minimize concerns by providing a safe, non slip, hard surface that can be cleared from snow and ice conditions during the winter months and that conforms with barrier free requirements.
Background
The existing ramp/stairway was built as a temporary structure for these trailers and as such has reached its end of life. Further to that it was also not built to conform with barrier free standards. As these trailers continue to be required at grand valley institution for program space, office space etc. the ramps require replacement. Currently on trailer cannot be occupied as a result of the condition of the existing structure.
Scope of Work
The contractor is to provide all personnel, tools, services, supplies, materials, supervision, applicable travel, meals, accommodations and equipment to:
- Supply and install a new modular aluminum ramping system for both trailers which incorporates stairs.
- Walking surfaces shall be constructed with an open mesh style surface
- Walkways and stairways to be a minimum of 5’ wide
- All walkways to provide handrails
- Ramp/stairs must be designed to provide egress from the front door of the building and shall direct traffic in the same direction as the existing ramps.
- All required excavation, grading and stabilization to be provided by contractor.
- Rise of ramps much provide access the complies with barrier free requirements.
- Minimum of 5 year warranty must be provided for aluminum products.
- Demolition and Removal of existing stairs and ramps from the Institution to be completed by the institution..
Term of Contract:
Period of the Contract: The Work is to be performed during the period of November 05, 2018 to march 31, 2019. Winning bidder has 12 weeks to order, receive and complete all work.
