    1.0 MANDATE

    Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), formerly Industry Canada, works with Canadians in all Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) formerly Industry Canada works with Canadians in all areas of the economy and in all parts of the country to improve conditions for investment, enhance Canada’s innovation performance, increase Canada’s share of global trade and build a fair, efficient and competitive marketplace.

    This includes managing Canada’s airwaves and overseeing its bankruptcy, incorporation, intellectual property and measurement systems; providing financing and industry research tools to help businesses develop, import and export; encouraging scientific research; and protecting and promoting the interests of Canadian consumers.

    2.0 PROJECT OVERVIEW

    DTSS aims to create a world leading business environment that fosters innovation and business growth by bringing together the power of digital technologies, big data, and digital policy. By accelerating digital innovation to create a delightful digital service experience, this will reduce administrative burden for small business and simplify the service touchpoints and interactions with government.

    Digital transformation of service delivery to small business means maturing our omni channel strategy by providing services to business with a seamless experience for business anytime and anywhere.

    As we accelerate digital services, we now introduce a mobile service to small business. The idea of a mobile application is to make the small businesses experience friendly and help them navigate through government services or programs while enabling government to push tailored programs and services to a business based on profile and relevance.

    A mobile service leverages the power of digital technologies on the device: biometrics, camera, geolocation, push notifications, alerts and security. This supports a simple, seamless and personalized experience to make it easier for businesses.

     3.0 SCOPE OF WORK / KEY ACTIVITIES

    The idea of a mobile application is to make the small businesses experience friendly and help them navigate through government services or programs while enabling government to push tailored programs and services to a business based on profile and relevance.

    The mobile application will leverage the power of digital technologies on the device: biometrics, camera, geolocation, push notifications, alerts and security. This supports a simple, seamless and personalized experience to make it easier for businesses.

    Tasks/Deliverables:

    • Design mobile app architectures;
    • Develop mobile app prototypes;
    • Develop mobile app frameworks;
    • Cloud based architectures for mobile applications;
    • Assure that project(s) outcomes align with ISED Enterprise Architecture principles and guidelines and TBS guidelines on IT/mobile solutions;
    • Provide RDAD/DSD Senior Management with timely, strategic advice regarding project(s) scope, delivery risks and mitigations;
    • Identify risks that arise during prototyping project(s) and analyze them and develop appropriate mitigation plan(s); 
    • Provide knowledge transfer to the RDAD team; and
    • Other related tasks/deliverables related to mobile apps.
