GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The works which are the subject of this contract includes the repair of Lachine Canal walls the reconstruction of a portion of the bicycle path and the replacement of the lighting network on the sections indicated in the Tender Form as well as on the plans.
- Rehabilitation works may include, but are not limited to, one or more of the following activities:
.1 Replacement or repair of concrete crowning (retaining) walls with occasional interventions;
.2 Supply, installation and removal of a temporary path;
.3 The dismantling of a portion of the existing runway and its reconstruction;
.4 The dismantling of the existing lighting network, supply and installation of a new lighting network;
.5 Perform all georeferenced detailed survey (NAD83 (CSRS) surveys of existing walls to be repaired and/or replaced, foundations, natural terrain surveys, bollards, rungs, railings, excavation bottoms, cuts, validations, etc.;
.6 Provision of laboratory services for quality control and signalers during the duration of the work;
.7 Preparation of the registers indicated in the specifications;
.8 Any other repair details, interventions or precisions shown in the plans issued under this contract.
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $1,000,001 > $ 5,000,000, taxes extra.
OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
There will be an optional site visit on Tuesday the 12th of February 2019 at 1:30pm local time. Interested bidders are to meet in front of:

National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.
Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
Standard Terms and Conditions for this procurement are incorporated by reference into, and form part of the Tender and Contract Documents.
PERIOD OF CONTRACT
Deadlines
1. Work under this Contract must be completed in full thirty-three (33) calendar weeks (including a two-week construction vacation) from the date of reception of Contract award letter.
2. Clearing must be completed before the end of the first week of April 2019.
3. The demolition of a section of reinforced concrete wall and securing the CN / St-Henri corridor before making the junction between the temporary path and the existing one and allow the use of this detour.
4. Partial demolition, formwork and concreting of existing city chambers and pipes must be completed by April 10, 2019.
5. The installation of the temporary multipurpose path and lighting must be completed by mid-May 2019 before the Folk Festival mobilization.
6. All Work, except for clearing and installation of temporary polyvalent path, temporary lighting, demolition work on a CN / ST-Henri sector wall section, demolition work and decommissioning of city chambers and soil characterization must be completed twenty-five (25) weeks after May 13th, 2019.
7. Within this period, the work in the sector between the George-Étienne Cartier walkway and the tunnel of the St-Henri bridge must be completed at the latest on September 30th, 2019.

Inquiries are to be made in writing and should be received no less than five (5) calendar days prior to the closing date to allow sufficient time to respond.
Bids submitted by facsimile to Parks Canada are NOT accepted.
Parks Canada Procurement Unit provides services to the public in either official language of Canada.
The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
