Notice Description
ECCC Infrastructure Task Force (ITF) must ensure IT assets needed to deliver services are identified, controlled and properly cared throughout their lifecycle.
Background
ECCC owns 500+ applications that are operated via various data centers across the country. Shared Services Canada owns and maintain hardware assets in data centers, applications are maintained by various ECCC support groups. ITF and SSC will join efforts to build a shared repository based iTOP open source product.
Objectives
The ECCC requires specialized expertise to :
- discover IT assets required by departmental applications and store their attributes and relationships in a central repository; and,
- create processes to maintain data integrity throughout their lifecycle; and,
- to share the information with various processes and stakeholders. The information will be used to measure impact of changes, incidents and aging IT.
