    Description of Work:

    SSC’s Enterprise Architecture Directorate (EAD) has a mandate to provide Innovation and Architecture oversight across SSC’s services, transformation plans and projects. The EAD translates SSC strategic business requirements into a set of guiding principles and reference architectures that describe the current and target vision of the enterprise in order to meet Partners’ and the Government of Canada’s strategic objectives. EAD directs the research and development of enterprise architecture in all areas including but not limited to;

    • Business Architecture: A description of the structure and interaction between the business strategy, organization, functions, business processes, and information needs
    • Data Architecture: The structure of an organization’s logical and physical data assets and data management resources.
    • Applications Architecture: A description of the structure and interaction of the applications as groups of capabilities that provide key business functions and manage the data assets.
    • Technology Architecture: A description of the structure and interaction of the platform services, and logical and physical technology components. This includes IT infrastructure, middleware, networks, communications, end user devices, service and systems management, hybrid cloud services, processing, standards, etc.

      To aid in fulfilling its mandate SSC requires additional senior level enterprise, business, technical and technology architects. To prepare and secure the future of SSC’s workforce, SSC is proceeding with an aggressive and efficient human resource development program to address the identified architecture skill-set gaps. EA is developing an architecture curriculum for all SSC employees to acquire the necessary architecture skills. The skills needed and experience required is not readily available within SSC at this time, necessitating the medium-term use of contractors to fill this skills gap.

      SSC will be pursuing a multiple supplier (six (6)), task-based contracts approach. Each individual contract will be negotiated within SSC’s contract entry authority.

      These contracts will facilitate in the procurement of architecture resources in the following areas:

      1. Business Architect
      2. Enterprise Architect
      3. Technology Architect
      4. Technical Architect
