SSC’s Enterprise Architecture Directorate (EAD) has a mandate to provide Innovation and Architecture oversight across SSC’s services, transformation plans and projects. The EAD translates SSC strategic business requirements into a set of guiding principles and reference architectures that describe the current and target vision of the enterprise in order to meet Partners’ and the Government of Canada’s strategic objectives. EAD directs the research and development of enterprise architecture in all areas including but not limited to;

- Data Architecture: The structure of an organization’s logical and physical data assets and data management resources.

- Technology Architecture: A description of the structure and interaction of the platform services, and logical and physical technology components. This includes IT infrastructure, middleware, networks, communications, end user devices, service and systems management, hybrid cloud services, processing, standards, etc.
To aid in fulfilling its mandate SSC requires additional senior level enterprise, business, technical and technology architects. The skills needed and experience required is not readily available within SSC at this time, necessitating the medium-term use of contractors to fill this skills gap.
