Nature of Requirements:
The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.
The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide the services of a diagnostic imaging technologist to federal inmates in the Province of Quebec.
Objectives: Services must be rendered in accordance with generally recognized laws, standards, regulations and practices in the Province of Quebec and in accordance with the Correctional Service of Canada’s policies for the economical and efficient management of Health Services resources CSC provides more specific guidance on inmate health care in the Commissioner’s Directives (CD) and a National Framework for Essential Health Care.
Deliverables:
- Receive the requests for radiological examinations for detainees in the Laval and Ste-Anne-des-Plaines complexes, at Donnacona, La Macaza and Port-Cartier institutions;
- Review applications to determine the nature and scope of the exams;
- According to the agreement established with the project manager, manage the Radiology Services agenda for the area served according to the Clinical Priorities Assessment;
- Identify the patients’ records (CDs) using benchmarks, burn CDs, prepare them for sending, and maintain the registry of reading records;
- Position and immobilize patients in a position that provides the desired orientation, using sandbags or other weights;
- Protect patients from over-irradiation with devices such as lead screens;
- Depending on the case, adjust the voltage, amperage, and exposure time based on the body part and characteristics of the patients examined to produce a digital X-ray whose detail, density, contrast and absence of distortion meet the requirements;
- Give the patients all necessary instructions related to the examination;
- Load, adjust, connect and arrange in order the related equipment;
- Submit radiological films (CDs) to radiologists approved by the health chief for analysis;
- Receive radiologist analyzes and archive them;
- Send the results of radiological examinations to the patient's residential facility;
- Upon receipt of radiologist's invoices, the diagnostic imaging technologist must identify the residency facility of each inmate to facilitate the management of radiologist's bills.
- The diagnostic imaging technologist who will provide the services from the Laval region point of service (which is the radiological archives center of the Quebec region) will have to maintain the archiving of x-rays performed on his own site, as well as those of the other served sites that will be forwarded to it.
- To maintain the files necessary for the good functioning of this service;
- Maintain the inventory of operating supplies for the radiology department;
- Verify and ensure that the procedures in effect at the institution comply with the relevant Acts and standards governing the practice of the profession of imaging technologist and radiation oncology technologist in Quebec;
- Act as a consultant regarding technical issues in radiology.
Term of Contract:
Period of the Contract: The Work is to be performed during the period of January 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2020 with the option to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods.
