Description of Work:
The Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) primary responsibility is the promotion and protection of Canada’s interests abroad and the conduct of Canada’s relations with other countries.
The Department is headquartered in Ottawa, and maintains a presence internationally. DFATD operates an extensive network of missions (embassies, high commissions, and consulates), honorary consulates, and other representational offices. Within Canada, DFATD operates through regional offices of Passport Canada and a network of trade commissioners working in International Trade Offices across the country.
The spread and complexity of Canada’s representation abroad has a profound impact on the nature and scope of the Department’s Business Intelligence and Analytics needs. Each portfolio has a distinctive mandate and requires different solutions to support decision-makings, from financial health of a branch, bureau and mission, real property demand, supply and cost monitoring, to how to anticipate spiked workload and mobilize resources more efficiently in services provided to Canadians overseas. The design, implementation and operation of Business Intelligence and Analytics are hugely affected by variety and complexity in source systems, and the solutions must integrate data from complex systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning system, Client Relation Management system and Human Resource Management system. In order to address the challenges, it is imperative a robust Business Intelligence and Analytics Program ensure alignment with business transformational objectives.
The focus of this RFP is to support the development and enhancements of DFATD’s SAP planning, financial reporting and analytical solutions in line with the current business needs and the future roadmap. Currently, DFATD leverages multiple modules of SAP and is considering leveraging more functionality of SAP and modernizing the platform in the coming years.
DFATD requires the services of up to four different SAP-related resources with varying levels of effort as workload demand rises and falls. This includes: SAP Front End Developer (Reporting), SAP Back-End Developer (Database), SAP Business Planning and Consolidation and SAP Business Objects/SAP Reporting Developer.
