REQUIREMENT
Parks Canada Agency requires the services of a Fire Chief to lead the volunteer fire service in Prince Albert National Park. The Contractor is to provide leadership, command, administration, training and response services for the Fire Department in accordance with the Waskesiu Fire Department Operational Guidelines.
Period of Contract
The Contract is for one year, April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 inclusive, with the option to extend the term of the Contract by up to three (3) additional one (1) year period(s) from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, and April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024 inclusive under the same conditions.
SECURITY REQUIREMENT
There is a security requirement associated with this bid solicitation.
The Bidder must hold a valid security clearance as indicated in Part 6 – Resulting Contract Clauses of the Request for Proposal.
New personnel security clearance requests will require mandatory fingerprints to initiate the criminal record check. The validity of an existing personnel security clearance issued by the Government of Canada is not affected by the change in the criminal record check process. Applicants who require a personnel security clearance are responsible for all costs associated with fingerprinting.
OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held at the Prince Albert Fire Hall, 1300 Montreal Drive, Waskesiu, SK, S0J 2Y0 on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. The site visit will begin at 13:00 CST.
Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than Monday, March 2, 2020 at 2 PM MST to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend.
ENQUIRIES
All inquiries of a technical and contractual nature are to be submitted to the Contracting Authority.
Enquiries regarding this bid must be submitted in writing and should be received no later than fifteen (15) calendar days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response. Enquiries received after that time may result in an answer NOT being provided.
INFORMATION:
National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.
Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders . Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
