Solid Waste Collection and Disposal - Prince Edward Island National Park, Parks Canada

REQUIREMENT

Parks Canada requires a contractor to provide collection and disposal of all solid waste at Prince Edward Island National Park.

• The contract price includes all disposal fees at current tippage rates
• All collection is to take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Exceptions to this are Dalvay Hotel which is to be picked up between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon.
• All recyclables are to be taken to an approved site for sorting and processing, outside of PEI National Park.
• All compostable organics are to be taken to the I.W.M.C. composting site in Brookfield, P.E.I.
• All residual waste shall be taken to the Energy from Waste Plant in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Period of Contract

The period of the contract is from date of award to March 31, 2023 inclusive.

The Contractor grants to Canada the irrevocable option to extend the term of the Contract by up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods under the same conditions. The Contractor agrees that, during the extended period of the Contract, it will be paid in accordance with the applicable provisions as set out in the Basis of Payment.

Canada may exercise this option at any time by sending a written notice to the Contractor at least thirty (30) calendar days before the expiry date of the Contract. The option may only be exercised by the Contracting Authority, and will be evidenced for administrative purposes only, through a contract amendment.

All enquiries of a technical and contractual nature are to be submitted to the Contracting Authority.

Enquiries regarding this bid must be submitted in writing and should be received no later than ten (10) calendar days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response. Enquiries received after that time may result in an answer not being provided.

NFORMATION:

National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.

Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders . Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
