    Description

    Background:

    LL997 & LL998, Gibbons Point front and rear ranges are a set of aids to navigation (ATON) located near Little Current, Ontario. The existing ATON have fallen into disrepair due to deteriorated concrete foundations.

    Work Summary:

    Work under this Contract includes but is not limited to the provision of all labour, materials, and equipment required to:

    • Mobilize to project site;
    • Construct new concrete tower foundations;
    • Install new towers and daymarks provided by CCG Parry Sound;
    • Remove existing concrete foundations and return towers and equipment to CCG Parry Sound Base; and
    • Demobilize.

    Site is inaccessible by road and utilization of a suitable access plan must be anticipated. 

    BID SECURITY:

    For bids greater than 100K, the Bidder shall submit bid security with the tender in the form of a bid bond or a security deposit, with original signature(s).

    The Bid Security shall be submitted in accordance with section GI08 Bid Security Requirements

    (a) The Bid Security is to be submitted in electronic copy with original signature(s) and by the bid closing date, time and e-mail address as indicated above

    Familiarization with the Site:

    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site are to review the project specifications and give at least 48hr notice before visiting the sites. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
