    Description

Request for Proposals (RFP) – Exploring the Canadian Carbon Market

About Farm Credit Canada (FCC): FCC is Canada’s leading agriculture and food lender, with a healthy loan portfolio of more than $38 billion. Our employees are dedicated to the future of Canadian agriculture and food. We provide flexible, competitively priced financing, management software, information and knowledge specifically designed for the agriculture and food industries. As a self-sustaining Crown corporation, we provide an appropriate return to our shareholder, and reinvest our profits back into the industries and communities we serve. Visit fcc.ca or follow us on FacebookInstagramLinkedIn, and on Twitter @FCCagriculture

    RFP Scope:

FCC is issuing this RFP to gain more information about the carbon market, how producers might participate in this market, and if FCC has a place in facilitating that market. The carbon market is a complex agriculture topic, and FCC is looking for an unbiased opinion with research to substantiate a recommendation. By exploring the carbon market for opportunities, while understanding the complexities and challenges therein, it will enable FCC to be more informed in making decisions around this topic.

We are seeking an unbiased opinion taking into consideration the pros and cons of various approaches including a recommendation that considers FCC’s commitment to Canadian agriculture as well their position as a self-sustaining Crown corporation with the federal government as a shareholder. The research and recommended approach would include a national perspective.
