This requirement is for: The Correctional Service of Canada, Pacific Institution.

Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business: This procurement is not subject to any set-asides for Aboriginal Suppliers.
Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: This procurement is not subject to a Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement.

Nature of Requirements:
The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.
The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide every inmate with the essential medical and dental care that they require, in accordance with current polices and directives.
Pacific Institution houses an accredited hospital and in order to maintain the standard of cleanliness required for that accreditation, CSC requires that the provision of some Janitorial Services at Pacific Institution be performed by a contracted building cleaning company. Specific training is required to ensure adequate controls and processes are undertaken to sanitize the Regional Medical Hospital, the Pharmacy and for call backs to clean, disinfect, sanitize and decontaminate areas that have been contaminated by blood and or body fluids.
Objectives: To clean certain areas of Pacific Institution to maintain the accreditation standard for hospitals. The Contractor must provide cleaning that meet or exceed the standards required for accreditation.
Deliverables: The janitorial Contractor must provide safe, professional janitorial services for inmates in accordance with the standards and practices set by the Community and Hospital Infection Control Association Canada (CHICA) and the Canadian Administrative Housekeepers Association (CAHA).
The Contractor must ensure that the cleanliness of the Institution is in compliance with Accreditation Canada (AC) standards and in accordance with the standards and practices set by Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC).
The Contractor, and all persons employed by the Contractor in the performance of work under this contract, must have most current certification in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) - Floor/Carpet cleaning, Upholstery cleaning, Containment/Cleanup/Disposal of Biohazards, Infection Control techniques/practices, disinfecting techniques/practices of medical equipment and Handling/Using Cleaning Chemicals.

Period of the Contract: The Work is to be performed during the period of December 14, 2020 to December 13, 2021 with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods.
