Description
  • The Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) requires that improvements be developed to the GeoTrellis-Server solution used by the Data Cube Platform managed by the Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO). The GeoTrellis-Server solution is an open source solution developed in Scala language for serving geospatial data as services compatible with the OGC Web Map Service (WMS) and Web Coverage Service (WCS) standards. The Data Cube Platform enables access, visualization and analysis of large raster data sets relevant to support decision making on priority issues for the Government of Canada.
  • The work will require the development of new functionalities to increase service interoperability and to improve support for layers with a temporal dimension. Developments will need to be contributed to the GeoTrellis-Server open source project hosted on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 License. The solution must be written in Scala language and integrated into the current GeoTrellis-Server project with the approval of the community. The implementation must be compliant with the OGC WMS 1.3.0 and OGC WCS 1.1.1 specifications. In addition to the provided source code, the required deliverables include the submission of a work plan, the update of the documentation and the holding demonstration session.
