Description
The Groundwater Information Network (GIN) is national data network and web portal that enables uniform access to Canada’s groundwater data. GIN is a partnership between the NRCan Groundwater Program and the provinces and territories. The portal consists of three components: (1) a public web application developed, owned and operated by NRcan, (2) a supplementary public web application and web services developed, owned and operated by Troo Corp (called the Troo web application herein), and (3) a data cache and associated web services developed and operated by NRCan, but hosted by Troo to optimize performance with the Troo web application.
The Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has a requirement to
- Provide specifications for all web services required by the web application (e.g. WMS, gazetteer).
- Provide required web services for development and operational purposes.
- Provide, configure, implement, and manage data cache and services.
- Provide information as required for satisfactory technical operations.
