Description
The services required will support the department in complying with the accessibility standards in accordance with the Accessible Canada Act.
The primary objectives of the services sought are to obtain an expert who will be able to review, edit and format currently non-accessible documents. It will also require writing descriptive text as well as ensuring the documents meet the plain language requirements (reading level grade 8 - when impossible, reading level should not exceed grade 10 for external documents and grade 12 for internal documents) and respecting the Canada.ca Content Style Guide in both official languages.
The project aims to accelerate the transition towards the compliance to the accessibility standards.
To prevent barriers faced by people with disabilities, documents will have to be accessible by using a screen reader i.e. JAWS.
