      For bids transmitted by email, DFO will not be responsible for any failure attributable to the transmission or receipt of the email bid. DFO will send a confirmation email to the Bidders when the submission is received.

      address indicated above.

       

      DELIVERABLES / SCOPE OF WORK

    1. Engineer and relocate, transport and re-install the existing 15.2m long aluminum gangway and one existing 15.2m long timber (pontoon) floating wharf, and hook-ups as is, from SABS, off the outer ell location to the north end shore side (45.16071, -67.14086) of the existing Bayside Port wharf structure.
    2. To supply and install the attachment mechanism for the pontoon including three new coal-tar epoxy coated steel 12x89 H-piles, hot dipped galvanized HSS supports welded and fastened with threaded rod and epoxy resin adhesive at the concrete deck elevation. HSS supports also bolted to the existing wharf structure and welded to the H-piles.
    3. To supply and install an adequate sized new cast-in-place concrete landing on 2 bearing piles of the North shore side of the existing Bayside Port wharf structure, approximately 2m by 2m.

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

     

    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification section 01 35 28 – Health and Safety before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.

    EXPECTED START AND COMPLETION DATES

     

    The services of the Contractor will be commencing upon contract award. The expected completion date of this project is July 30, 2021.

     

    MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • The minimum acceptable amount of Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance is $2,000,000.00 per occurrence. All tenders must be accompanied by confirmation from the tenderer’s insurance company that the required insurance will be available upon contract award;
