Description
The fifth MIAC meeting was held virtually between Government of Canada and marine industry officials on June 14th & 17th, 2021 via MS Teams with takeaways in the following areas of discussion:
The following objectives were proposed for the meeting:
- Provide an update on MIAC sub working groups
- Present KPMG study findings in collaboration with ABCMI
- Presentation on Shipbuilding Strategy – Joint activity with BC Government and ABCMI
- Provide an update on the Vendor Performance Management pilot project
- Discuss topics/challenges industry is facing and find solutions with the help of the Federal Government of Canada in regards to the following topics:
- Business Continuity
- In Service/Lifecycle Support Mechanisms for Small Boats
- Small Boat Trade-in Options
- Innovation & Greening
The fifth MIAC meeting was successful due to the participation of Industry and partner departments. The resulting action register is located at the end of the attached report.
A sixth MIAC meeting is planned for the fall of 2021.
