Solicitation number 30000899
Publication date
Closing date and time 2021/08/13 13:00 EDT
Description
The contractor will use capture-mark-recapture and acoustic telemetry data that has been generated for Cambridge Bay Arctic char to:
- Develop novel methods for estimating time and spatial specific survival and abundance of Arctic char in the Cambridge Bay region and assess how these estimates may be dependent on regional and environmental covariates;
- Assess how detection ability of tags changes over time and geographical locations;
- Estimating populations sizes for Cambridge Bay Arctic char and how they change over time;
- Develop novel methods for assessing habitat use including the vertical and horizontal space use patterns of Cambridge Bay Arctic char;
- Assess how inferred habitat use may be dependent on biological and environmental covariates including environmental: sea ice, sea surface temperature, spring freshet, air temperature and sun light (photo-period); biological: sex, inferred maturity, length, weight, condition; and possibly limited genomic data;
- Developing codes and tools that can be used for future analyses by DFO personnel;
- Publish the results of this work, including DFO contributors as co-authors, in peer-reviewed journals of the contractors choice.
