    Description

    mmWave Thermal Power Sensors (Qty.x3)

    General Requirement Preamble

    The Certification & Engineering Bureau (CEB) requires a quantity of 3, mmWave / Radio Frequency (RF) thermal power sensors in order to carry out regulatory compliance testing, standards development activities as well as measurement studies.

    Equipment Specification Requirements:

    The mmWave power sensor shall be interoperable with the CEB’s current mmWave 1 mm connector system. A 1 mm (male) connector shall be provided at the mmWave input port.

    The specification requirement is for hardware and software that will allow millimeter wave true average power (RMS) compliance tests and measurements on devices under test (DUT) or on power coupling devices.

    1)Mandatory Requirements

    1.1)General Hardware Specifications

    Specification requirement:

    • Frequency of operation for each power sensor: DC to >= 110 GHz
    • The RF test port connector shall be 1 mm male connector
    • Input power range is <= 300 nW to >= 100 mW (<= –35 dBm to >= +20 dBm)
    • The mmWave thermal power sensor’s power supply must be fully integrated or powered via the USB port
    • The impedance of the RF test port connector shall be 50 ohms
    • SWR: DC to 18 GHz: <= 1.25; 18 GHz to 50 GHz: <= 1.50; 50 GHz to 110 GHz: <= 1.77
    • Measurement uncertainty (Absolute): <= 0.35 (dB)
    • Linearity shall be = <= 0.60 %
    • Communications & control shall be made using one USB cable connection
    • All cabling and connectors for general use shall be included

    1.2)Software Requirements

    Specification requirement:

    • System must include software that allows data acquisition from a computer operating on MS Windows 10.
    • System must include software that performs true average power (RMS) measurements from DC to >= 110 GHz
    • Software must have a graphical interface
    • Software must allow for automation of power measurements of any user duration selection between (0 and >18 minutes)
    • Software must allow for automatic system verification
    • Software must contain a tabular measurement data report generator
    • The software must allow connection of two or more power sensors within the same software interface for performing power measurements on multiple channels or device ports.
    • The software must allow export of the measurement data for post processing via Microsoft (MS) Excel or other MS compatible applications
    • The software provided with the system shall not require a periodic software licensing fee

    1.3)Environmental Requirements

    Specification requirement:

    • The manufacturer’s operating temperature range must be in the range of 0 degrees Celsius or lower to 50 degrees Celsius or higher.
    • The maximum operating humidity must be equal to or higher than 70%.

    1.4)General Specifications

    1.4.1.Quality and Service

    Specification requirement:

    • The manufacturer of the system must have at least 10 years’ experience manufacturing electronic test equipment
    • The system must not be manufactured using components that are older than 5 years.
    • The system must include contact information for product support in the form of a website, email address and telephone number.
    • Training on how to use the equipment shall be available upon request
    • The system shall include contact information for product support in the form of a website, email address and telephone number. The support shall be available for at least 2 years after purchase.

    1.4.2.Calibration of Equipment

    Specification requirement:

    • All measurement components of the system must be delivered with a certificate of calibration and data demonstrating compliance to all the manufacturers’ specifications as applicable. The calibration must be valid for at least 1 year after purchase.

    1.4.3.Delivery and Brokerage

    • Contract cost to include all delivery and brokerage charges, etc. FOB Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Certification and Engineering Bureau, located at 3701 Carling Ave. bldg.# 94. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2H 8S2 (ph.# (613) 991-9311)
