TWO PHASE SELECTION PROCESS
This is the first phase (Phase 1) of a two-phase competition: the first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders; second phase (Phase 2) will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of contract in Phase Two the pre-qualification list will be terminated, no additional contracts will be awarded.
The scope of work for this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the construction of a new marginal wharf at Little Heart’s Ease, NL, in strict accordance with specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.
In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
.1 Complete removal and disposal of the existing gabion wall, concrete, wheelguard, stone barricades, and any other items as required to facilitate new work, as indicated on the drawings.
.2 Removal of a section of the existing fenders from the existing finger pier to facilitate tie-in of the new wharf, as shown on the drawings.
.3 Complete removal of the existing armour stone to facilitate new work, as indicated on the drawings.
.4 Construction of a new treated timber crib marginal wharf with reinforced concrete deck and slab-on-grade, to dimensions as indicated on the drawings. Cribs will be placed on rock mattress and/or may have to be scribed to hard bottom, as shown on the drawings.
.5 Installation of new rock scour protection along perimeter of new wharf, as shown on the drawings.
.6 Cribseat excavation (including bedrock if required), to facilitate placement of the new marginal wharf and rock mattress, as shown on the drawings.
.7 Installation of new stone barricades and filter stone protection complete with geotextile, as shown on the drawings.
.8 Excavate, scarify and compact existing parking area sub-grade, as required, to facilitate placement of new granulars to the new grades indicated.
.9 Installation of new rock fill and granulars, as shown on the drawings.
.10 Installation of new catch basin complete with concrete apron and storm sewer pipe extending out through the new marginal wharf.
