    Description

Currently Transport Canada sets the medical examination standards used by marine medical examiners in a technical publication (TP 11343). The need to modernize the marine medical program has resulted in regulatory amendments to the current Marine Personnel Regulations. Modernization of the program also includes digitalization of current seafarer files and certificates as well as the continued requirement for access to digitalized material. The modernized program needs to be fully reflected in the New TP 11343 to ensure marine medical examiners are fully versed with their new responsibilities and requirements.
