    Description

    Please note that one of conditions of the contract will be that the Consultant to whom the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development awards this contract, as a result of this process, shall not submit, either directly or indirectly, a bid for any Construction Contract related to the Project.

    Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada, represented by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), is initiating a process to prequalify Respondents for Architectural & Engineering (A&E) Services for the Chancery Expansion of the Embassy of Canada in Doha to the State of Qatar. Interested suppliers are required to respond to this Request for Qualification. Only those Respondents considered by DFATD to meet the prequalification requirements as defined in this document will be invited to submit competitive Bids for this work during the Request for Proposal phase of the solicitation.

    The Government of Canada, through Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada, is planning to carry out an expansion of the chancery at the Embassy of Canada in Doha to the State of Qatar. The chancery is located on the 30th floor of the Tornado Tower and has a current gross floor area of approximately 529 m2. The chancery is located at Corner of Majlis Al Taawon Street and Al Funduq Steet in the Tornado Tower, Doha, State of Qatar. Generally, the project scope includes a total floor area of approximately 274 square meters of the 30th floor of the building but may not necessary be limited to the following items:

    • additional workstations;
    • additional washroom facilities;
    • VCNET meeting room;
    • new Head of Mission (HOM) office and waiting area;
    • wellness support room;
    • kitchenette; and
    • printer / business center

    The chosen Consultant will be responsible for the production of all the working drawings (final versions to be stamped by a licensed architect and a licensed engineer that have the authority in Canada or in the State of Qatar based on the drawings and scope of work that will be outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP) - Stage 2 (henceforth referenced as RFP Stage 2) to qualified firms.

    Respondents must be capable of providing the full range of services required in English or French, and have the ability to participate in on-site project activities in the State of Qatar as described in the RFP Stage 2.
