TWO STAGE SELECTION PROCESS
This posting is the Stage Two of a two-stage solicitation process: the first stage was to evaluate the qualifications of all interested suppliers. The second stage (Stage Two) is to invite the qualified suppliers to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Only qualified suppliers to Stage 1 have been invited to bid.
REQUIREMENT
Parks Canada requires a Prime General Contractor for the purpose of this project, to repair the Cavendish & Brackley Beach Dune Crossings stairs, and accessible ramps so they are structurally sound and safe for visitors.
Elements of this project include the following:
This work includes the provision of all materials, labour, equipment, and ancillaries, as necessary for the completion of the work as indicated on the drawings and as described in the specifications and notes. Work on this section consists generally of, but not limited to, the following:
Cavendish Beach
- Realignment of existing steel frames and helical piles in the lower ramp section.
- Design, supply, and installation of helical piles and connection requirements at ramp locations.
- Supply and installation of new steel pile saddles, connection brackets, spindles and handrail components.
- Replacement of ramp and landing sections. There are two ramp sections and one landing section located adjacent to the existing stairs. The contractor will be permitted to salvage the stringer and deck system, but these sections will require new rail systems.
- Realignment of the lower ramp sections and intermediate landing.
- Reconstruction of the lower stairs rail system.
- Removal and disposal of existing timber components that cannot be salvaged.
- Rehabilitate disturbed areas to the satisfaction of the Departmental Representative.
- Clean up debris and construction waste to be disposed of off site.
Brackley Beach
- Design, supply, and installation of helical piles and connection requirements at existing timber bents.
- Supply and installation of new steel pile saddles, connection brackets, spindles and handrail components.
- Replacement of ramp and landing sections. There are four sections located at Gregors Lane. The contractor will be permitted to salvage the steel railing from these sections.
- Realignment of the lower ramp sections and intermediate landing.
- Reconstruction of the lower stairs rail system.
- Removal and disposal of existing timber components that cannot be salvaged, including sections at Gregors Lane.
- Rehabilitate disturbed areas to the satisfaction of the Departmental Representative.
- Clean up debris and construction waste to be disposed of offsite.
