    DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT

The objective of this project is to produce a compelling cross-Canada series of video mini-documentaries and, if required, a smaller sub-set of shorter teaser videos for the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Each video within the series will explore the story of how a different community is realizing the benefits of immigration while overcoming common challenges. The stories chosen for the video series will reflect as much regional and topic diversity as possible.

Although the stories highlighted in each video will vary, they should all be edited with a common treatment to tie them together into a series. The unifying thread of this series will be the positive contributions of immigrants to communities.

    Mini-documentaries:

As and when requested, the Contractor could be asked to produce up to twenty (20) English and twenty (20) French mini-documentaries in 2018-19, each 2-3 minutes long. (English and French versions will be identical save for close captioning and descriptive text of the second language.) The documentaries will feature emotionally compelling stories of immigrants who have made a unique or extreme contribution to a Canadian community. The documentaries will form part of a campaign page profiled on IRCC’s website and promoted to our target audience via a wide range of partnerships.

    Teaser videos:

As and when requested, the Contractor could be asked to produce up to 10 (English and French) shorter (15-30 second) video clips as teasers for the mini-documentaries that will be featured on social media channels.

As and when requested, the Contractor will be required to record and/or edit videos and deliver the resulting files to IRCC. In most cases, IRCC will provide content direction in terms of which story will be profiled in each video; however, the Contractor can make suggestions if they know of compelling stories that fit the objective. Most videos will be shot documentary / ENG style with a one-person crew handling both sound and camera, however some shoots may also include scenes that would require a sound recordist

The Contractor will be required to travel to locations across Canada to record video. Locations and dates of travel will be confirmed throughout the contract and may be adjusted on short notice. The Contractor will need to be flexible to adapt to changing schedules and logistics.

    PERIOD OF THE CONTRACT

The period of the Contract is from date of Contract to March 31 2019 inclusive.

    OPTION TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT

The Contractor grants to Canada the irrevocable option to extend the term of the Contract by up to two (2) additional one (1) year period under the same conditions. The Contractor agrees that, during the extended period of the Contract, it will be paid in accordance with the applicable provisions as set out in the Basis of Payment.

Canada may exercise this option at any time by sending a written notice to the Contractor at least 15 calendar days before the expiry date of the Contract. The option may only be exercised by the Contracting Authority, and will be evidenced for administrative purposes only, through a contract amendment.

    SECURITY REQUIREMENT

There are no security requirements associated with this requirement.

    CANADIAN CONTENT

The requirement is limited to Canadian goods and/or services.

    Delivery Date: Above-mentioned

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.

Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
