TITLE:   Creation of stable glyco-modified Nicotiana benthamiana
plant lines for the production of pharmaceutical proteins, and
continued supply of recombinant butyrylcholinesterase

REQUIREMENT: 
Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) - Suffield,
Medicine Hat, Alberta has a requirement for a contractor to
create stable glyco-modified Nicotiana benthamiana plant lines
for the production of pharmaceutical proteins, and continued
supply of recombinant butyrylcholinesterase.

The requirement is limited to Canadian goods and/or services.

MANDATORY CRITERIA: 
At Solicitation Closing:
Failure to meet any of the following mandatory requirements at
solicitation closing will render your submission non-compliant
and given no further consideration.

1.  Education: Must have a PhD in a natural science.
2.  Experience:                                                 
           
	a) Experience using plant lines which have been glycomodified
to reduce plant-specific 			glycosylation of proteins for human
therapeutic purposes.  
	b) Experience with research and development of proteins
produced in plants for human 			therapeutic use.  
	c) Experience with research and development of biosimilar drugs.
3. Price Proposal does not exceed the established budget.      

CONTRACTOR SELECTION: 
Contractor selection will be based on the bidder that submits
the highest technically acceptable proposal provided that the
total evaluated bid price does not exceed the established budget.

OWNERSHIP OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: Contractor Owned

MAXIMUM FUNDING:
The maximum funding available for the Contract resulting from
the bid solicitation is $792,000.00 (Applicable Taxes extra, as
appropriate).  Bids valued in excess of this amount will be
considered non-responsive.  This disclosure does not commit
Canada to pay the maximum funding available.

PERIOD OF CONTRACT: 
The period of the contract is from date of award to March 31,
2017.
