Trade Agreement: NAFTA/AIT/Canada-Peru FTA/Canada-Colombia FTA Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Attachment: None Competitive Procurement Strategy: Best Overall Proposal Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: TITLE: Soil Acquisition for Metal Detector Testing REQUIREMENT: Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) - Suffield, Medicine Hat, Alberta has a requirement for a type of soil which has a highly frequency dependent magnetic susceptibility for testing metal detectors which may be used by the Canadian Forces. Since this kind of soil is not typically found in Canada, a Contractor is needed to help locate appropriate soil, and arrange for import to Canada by providing a report outlining the work required and expected costs to acquire and ship the soil. The Contractor must be familiar with the principles of electromagnetic metal detection, soil properties, and have experience operating in areas which contain the needed soil, as outlined in the Statement of Work, Annex "A" and in accordance with the terms and conditions contained in the Request for Proposal. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Failure to meet any of the following mandatory requirements at solicitation closing will render your submission non-compliant and given no further consideration. The Contractor must meet the following mandatory criteria at solicitation closing: 1. Experience: Documented experience in metal detector testing. 2. Experience: Documented experience in the demining industry. CONTRACTOR SELECTION: The contractor will be selected on the basis of the Assessed Best Value to the Crown taking into account merit and cost factors. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The period of the Contract is four (4) months from date of award including an option to purchase. ESTIMATED FUNDING: The total estimated funding for this contract including the option to purchase is $40,000.00, GST extra.
