    TITLE:  Autonomous Intelligent Systems Section (AISS) Support
    Services, Ralston, AB
    
    SECURITY:
    The Contractor/Offeror must, at all times during the performance
    of the Contract/Standing Offer, hold a valid Designated
    Organization Screening (DOS), issued by the Canadian Industrial
    Security Directorate (CISD), Public Works and Government
    Services Canada (PWGSC).
    
    The Contractor/Offeror personnel requiring access to sensitive
    work site(s) must EACH hold a valid RELIABILITY STATUS, granted
    or approved by CISD/PWGSC. 
    
    Subcontracts which contain security requirements are NOT to be
    awarded without the prior written permission of CISD/PWGSC.
    
    The Contractor/Offeror must comply with the provisions of the:
    
    a) Security Requirements Check List, and security guide (if
    applicable) attached at Annex "B" of 		the solicitation.
    
    b) Industrial Security Manual (Latest Edition).
    
    REQUIREMENT: 
    Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) - Suffield,
    Medicine Hat, Alberta, requires an "as and when requested" task
    authorization contract for the services of technical support in
    the design, construction, testing and maintenance of hardware
    and software components of unmanned ground vehicle systems in
    support of Autonomous Intelligent Systems Section (AISS)
    programs.
    
    MANDATORY CRITERIA: 
    1.  Contractor's staff must include personnel with
    post-secondary degree(s)/diploma(s) in electrical, electronic or
    computer engineering, or related field.  
    2.  Contractor (or subcontractor) personnel must have experience
    in the design, specification, development, procurement and use
    of electrical and electronic equipment. 
    3. Contractor (or subcontractor) personnel must have experience
    in computer software design and coding.
    4. Contractor (or subcontractor) personnel must have experience
    with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
    
    CONTRACTOR SELECTION: Selection will be based on the best value
    to Canada on the basis of highest combined rating of merit and
    price.
    
    OWNERSHIP OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: Canada will retain
    intellectual property.  DRDC is exempted from the Treasury Board
    "Policy on Title to Intellectual Property Arising Under Crown
    Procurement Contracts" approved 1-June-2000.
    
    ESTIMATED FUNDING:
    For planning purposes, the Department of National Defence,
    Defence Research & Development Canada - Suffield has established
    a budget of $100,000.00, GST extra for this requirement.  This
    is not, however, to be constructed as an offer on the part of
    Canada.
    
    PERIOD OF CONTRACT: 
    The contract period for authorizing task authorizations is from
    April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013.
    
    The contract may result in follow-on work.
    
    This PWGSC office provides procurement services to the public in
    English.

    The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
    procurement.
