    Description of requirement

The Chief Information Officer Branch (CIO Branch) of Public
Works and Government Services Canada procures a large volume of
goods and services including IT professional services. The
Branch procurement activities range in degree of difficulty
based on the type of commodity procured; the availability of
existing methods of supply such as Tasked Based Informatics
Professional Services (TBIPS); the value of the actual
requirement; and the timing available for the process.

The Branch has been facing challenges with business management
services including the processing of procurements in support of
the operation of the Branch. The situation is a result of
staffing and salary constraints as well as the transfer of a
number of knowledgeable resources from CIO Branch to the new
Shared Services organization. The Branch is currently looking to
renew an existing arrangement for the supply of IT professional
services to support the web and mainframe applications.
The scope of this requirement is to provide information
technology (IT) professional services and related deliverables
to CIO Branch technical managers and their staff involved in the
development, support and maintenance of software applications on
behalf of their clients at Technology Services (ITS)
    Directorates.
