    NOTE TO BIDDERS:

    PROJECT IDENTIFICATION:  
    Project number R.008136.002, Alexandra Bridge Repairs, Alexandra
    Bridge North Trestle, Québec Abutment, Gatineau.
    
    Project description:  Steel repairs and painting of the
    Alexandra Bridge North Trestle. Work is to be completed within
    fifty (50) weeks after contract award. The estimated cost for
    this opportunity is within the following category: $1,000,001 to
    $5,000,000. 
    
    MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT:   
    This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement.  At
    bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated
    Organization Screening (DOS) at level of Reliability Status.
    Failure to comply with this requirement will render the Bid
    non-compliant and no further consideration will be given to the
    Bid. 
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:  
    There will be an optional site visit on November 22nd, 2012 at
    10:00am.  Interested bidders shall meet at Alexandra Bridge
    North Trestle, Québec Abutment, Gatineau, Québec. 
    (Access from The Marina de Hull Parking). 
    
    Safety Attire - It is mandatory that all persons attending the
    site visit have the proper safety footwear (CSA approved green
    patch) and  a hard hat.  Contractor personnel/individuals who do
    not have the proper safety attire will be denied access to the
    site.

    Enquiries are to be made in writing and should be received no

    Amendments, when issued, will be available from MERX. Firms that
    elect to base their bids on bid documents obtained from other
    sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible
