    Project description:    
    A building at Confederation Heights isto undergo heating and cooling system work to convert from high temperature hot water tolow temperature hot water. The existing systems within the building will be converted and the work will involve removal of some of the existing equipment, installation of new distribution pumps, and installation of new Energy Transfer Stations at the basement level.All work (besides delivery of supplies and project staging/lay down) will occur within the building structure itself; the portion of the hot water distribution network outside the building footprint will not be altered.
     
    Bidders are strongly encouraged to review the plans and specifications (and published addenda) for this project in a high level of detail. This is a unique project involving conversion of a complex existing system, and some industry standards that may not be familiar or typical to Contractors have been specified. In addition, since the work is to be performed in an occupied building, there are added complexities related to work restrictions and building access.  Since maintaining continuous building systems operations is paramount,scheduling, phasing and work operations should be carefully considered.
    
    
    Work is to be completed within 50 weeks after contract award. The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the followingcategory: $1,000,001 to $5,000,000. 
    
    MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT:  
     
    This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement.  At bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS) / Facility Security Clearanceat level of Relability.  Failure to comply with this requirement will render the Bid non-compliant and no further consideration will be given to the Bid. 
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:  
    
    There will be a site visit on February 22nd 2017, 10:00am. Interestedbidders shall meet at the Main entrance, 875 Heron Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 1G9
    
    
    Safety Attire - It is mandatory that all persons attending the site visit have the proper safety footwear (CSA approved green patch) and safety glasses are also required.  Contractor personnel/individuals who do not have the proper safety attire will be denied access to the site.
