    PWGSC on behalf of NRCan has a requirement to supply and deliver a Marine grade fibreoptic cable.
    
    The purpose of this cable is to secure , tow and ensure communications with a deep tow vehicle at water depths up to 3500 meters.
    
    Environment: The cable is requred to operate in a marine environment. The cable will be subject to immersion in seawater. Associated impacts and shock loadings may result from violent ship movement. It may be exposed to temperatures as low as -20C.
    
    The cable shall be capable of operating under specified minimum working load. Breaking strength shall meetor exceed requirements. Bend radius weight in seawater and cable diameter shall be as specified or lower in order to be compatible with existing winches. 
    
    The cable shall have no electrical conductor embedded within, but shall have 3 or more single mode fibre optic lines of type SMF28 or better.

    - Minimum working load: 1000Lbf
    - Minimum breaking strength: 5000 Lbf
    - Maximum  bend radius: 10"
    - Maximum weight in seawater: 10Lb/1000ft
    - Maximum cable diameter: 0.42"
    - Abrasion-resistant jacket (Polyurethane)
    - Cable length 3500m

    Evaluation:Bidders must meet all technical requirements and will be evaluated on a pass or fail. The lowest responsivebid that meets the technical requirements will be recommended for award.
