OBJECTIVE:
The National Research Council's (NRC's) Fire Safety resource
unit has a requirement for a compressed air foam supply system.
The supplier must provide a commercially-available off-the-shelf
compressed air foam supply system. The system must be skid
mounted for installation in a fire truck.
BACKGROUND:
The Fire Safety Resource Unit (FSRU) provides, maintains and
operates fire testing facilities at NRC. Through the FSRU, NRC
conducts full scale fire testing research and provides advisory
services to government, institutional and private sector
clients. The compressed air foam supply system will enhance
NRC's ability to conduct research on firefighting in buildings,
and allow firefighters to test and evaluate fire suppression
equipment and tactics in a safe environment
