Nature of Requirements: 
A request for information (RFI) is used when detailed
information and feedback are required from industry.  Such
requests might outline a potential requirement and request
suppliers to describe their ability to satisfy the requirement.  

The Department of National Defence (DND) is embarking on a
project to replace their existing lithographic offset printing
press used at the Mapping and Charting Establishment (MCE) with
a digital printing press.  The press will be used to print maps
for the Canadian Forces (CF) and its allies and replace the plot
on demand function at the MCE Map Depot.

It  requested to provide any technical information according to
the Statement of requirement and a detailled price estimate for
the furniture, instalation and delivery of the press in the
National capital region.

Canada does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this
notice or otherwise pay for the information solicited. 
Responders may submit commercial-in-confidence
documents/information/data collected and the Government of
Canada reserves the right to use the information submitted to
assist in preparing technical and contractual plans/requirements
and budgetary estimates.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
