BID SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary measures are being taken on-site at the Ontario Region Bid Receiving Unit to encourage social distancing. Requirement: Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Air Quality Research Division (AQRD) requires a Laser Direct Infrared (LDIR) chemical imaging system to support the G7 Ocean Plastics Charter and the Canadian Plastics Science Agenda (CaPSA). This work also supports the microplastics priorities of the Northern Contaminants Program and Canada’s commitments to the Arctic Council’s Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP). Objective: This purchase will provide a fast automated approach to chemical imaging and spectral analysis resulting in high-definition chemical images of anthropogenic particles including microplastics. Due to its automated nature, this instrument does not require an expert user thus it can generate high quality data with little training and start-up time. The LDIR will give Atmospheric Science and Technology Directorate (ASTD) the capability of analysing microplastics in all environmental media. Delivery is required by March 31, 2021.
