    The construction of the New Champlain Bridge Corridor (NCBC) project will result in the loss of fish habitats. In order to comply with the authorizations issued under the Fisheries Act for the construction of the NCPC project, these losses must be offset and to do so, Vaudreuil Rapids site was retained. This site is located in the Outaouais River between the Taschereau Bridge and the Aux PinsIsland. The river will only be accessible from the Sabourin Park which is located in the municipality of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
     
    The works include, but are not limited to the creation of spawning grounds in fast-flowing waters and in calm waters. These spawning grounds will be made of various aggregates that must be deposited on the river bed without excavation. The spawning grounds to be created represent an area of 104 785 m2, spread out in an area of approximately 800 000 m2. The works may be carried out over two years and must be completed by December 31st, 2018. Periods of environmental restrictions aiming toprotect fish spawning periods apply to river access.
    
    There will be a site visit on March 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Interested bidders are to meetat the Dorion-Garden building, located at 671 Valois street, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec J7V 0H4.
