Janitorial Services National Strategy (JSNS)

The scope of the strategy is janitorial services purchased by
Public Works and Governement Services Canada (PWGSC) for use by
government departments in Canada, for all values of
transactions.  The scope is limited to janitorial services
contracts awarded using PWGSC's contracting authorities.  

The scope excludes the following services: 
·	Handyman services;
·	Trash / garbage collection services*;
·	Disinfecting and exterminating services;
·	Landscaping and horticultural services;
·	Lawn and garden services;
·	Grounds maintenance;
·	Carpet, drape and upholstery cleaning;
·	Interior plantscaping;
·	Snow plowing and removal / Snow removal - roofs;
·	Exterior window cleaning;
·	Duct-exhaust system cleaning;
·	Disaster recovery services such as water damage restoration /
fire damage restoration / oil leak or spill clean up / odor
removal.  

* Emptying of small office garbage cans / receptacles is
included in JSNS

The procurement of these exluded services is undertaken through
separate agreements that are not in the purview of the JSNS.

The processes within the JSNS will be in effect until 2017.
