No Substitute- Standardization of Equipment and/or add-on to system or components already installed. Compatibility and/orinterchangeability factor is imperative.
 Remarks:
   The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) has fitted the same Elac ice housing (part #544-091-011) on ice strengthened vessels since the first installation on the CCG ship Labrador in 1981.
  Fitted ice housings are integral to the hull design. Ice housing includes a standard internal mounting arrangement for an Elac LSE 131 transducer. This transducer is the standard fit for CCG ice strengthened vessels.
  Ice housings are certified by Classification Soceity Germanischer Lloyd (GL) to meet ice class ARC vessels.
  The ice housing is completely flush mounted in the ship’s hull. In case of a transducer failure, housing can be opened from inside the hull while the ship remains in the water. This allows fortransducer replacement without dry docking the vessel.
  Requisite product is a direct replacement from OEM. Installing direct replacement unit on vessel requires no hull modification and no further approvals or certification.
